Jessica Nakata, Owner & Designer

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York Jessica discovered her love for interior design when she was just a young girl. After graduating from San Francisco State University with a degree in interior design and working for two well-known Los Angeles interior design firms, Jessica opened her own retail home furnishings store and interior design business, the Black Door. For over 15 years, The Black Door has helped hundreds of clients achieve their dream spaces and has been published in national magazines and is featured regularly on HGTV’s House Hunters Renovation.

Jessica founded The Black Door with the goal of blending each client’s personal taste with their lifestyle and surrounding environment. Jessica’s versatile designs are classic and timeless while at the same time modern and sophisticated.

The Black Door focuses on all levels of a clients design needs. While based in Denver, Colorado, we work on projects both near and far.
